WASSILY KANDINSKY
Silk Kimono, Meisen Technique, Taisho Era
Unlike traditional kimono, meisen kimono were the first to become fashion items, sold off the rack and worn only for a season or two. The resulting designs could be trendy and reflect current international styles. This kimono seems to have been inspired by the paintings of Wassily Kandinsky.
