WASSILY KANDINSKY 1866-1944

Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky is known for his lyrical style and innovative theories on nonfigurative art. In 1910 he published Concerning the Spiritual In Art, which brought to the world his belief that color and abstract forms can be used to portray the inner life of the artist. “Color is a means of exerting direct influence on the soul.”
